If you’re looking for a pub stay that’s as close to adventure as your last bad decision, look no further! Nestled perfectly for your New Plymouth escapades and just a hop, skip, and a jump from the charming town of Inglewood, this place is like a treasure map for climbers eyeing Mt Taranaki. And let me tell you, the service? Top-notch! Mike, the resident legend, is so lovely that you might start questioning if he’s a real person or just a friendly ghost sent to make your stay unforgettable. Seriously, if you’re not careful, you might end up wanting to adopt him! Cheers to a stay that’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys (and way less messy)!

We came here for dinner after a long looooong hike up the maunga. We ordered food and got our plates 40 minutes later. Definitely not the right place if you are starving lol. Seriously, I was dead and didn’t mind the wait. There was an event at the war which delayed many orders. The girl that served us was very gentle and I saw how stressful was for her the whole situation, dealing with pretty angry-hungry customers. She was a star! I loved the food very much! A massive steak with veggies and smash potatoes. The he pork belly was also really good. Might be a Taranaki thing cause all pork belly’s I tried in this area were amazing! Anyway, i finished satisfied with everything I needed after such demanding hike. Thank you heaps

Great place, and great service, a little needs to be spent on upkeep of room and facilities, half the bathroom lights blown. Do not rely on shared kitchen for cooking as you are only allowed to use what is their no oven, pots, pans or hob. Only a toaster and Chef Mike (the microwave). But restaurant menu looked and smelled amazing and reportedly the chefs portions sizes are extremely generous. Ceral is provided for breakfast which is a very nice touch. Bed was firm but clean. For uder $100 for the night you can't really complain to much would stay again
